By the end of this week, framing of our new facility approached 99% complete. Drywall started going up throughout, electrical rough-ins continued, and HVAC ductwork installation in the administrative space began.
We successfully overcame a number of design issues this week that threatened to delay or change the project — some slightly, some significantly. One of the most significant problems we resolved were the presence of a sanitary line and water feeds running through the middle of the planned data center ceiling. If they haven’t been moved already, all remaining pipes containing water will be taken outside the data center.
Back at the current facility, our technical teams reviewed access control system and security monitoring system requirements. We continued discussions on the internal wiring and data cabling standards used throughout the data center, data cabling to our administrative space, and data cabling between our teleco meet point and the data center. We worked with our electrical and HVAC partners to make sure that our efforts were coordinated, turning over stones looking for surprises and eliminating them. We also spent a good amount of time scoping out our technical operations display system requirements. The display system will be a welcome new addition to our technical operations team.
Next week marks the start of the next major phase: installation of data center mechanicals. The chiller pipe installation is scheduled to begin Monday, and the chillers themselves are scheduled to be set on the roof the weekend after that.

A company is only as good as the people who work there. And in Donet's case, those people are simply exceptional. Bright. Inventive. Rock-solid.
